Hello Buffalo Fans,
I am so excited about the 2022-2023 school year and being the principal at Stanton High School!! I am excited to be a part of all the great things going on here. I am so proud to be a part of a community with so many rich traditions and values.
I have been in education for 22 years. My first 7 years, I spent as a social studies teacher and coach at 3 middle schools across Texas. The experience that I gained over the years was invaluable. Because of the many great mentors I had along the way, I felt a calling into school administration. I was privileged to spend my first 5 years as an assistant principal at Palo Duro High School in Amarillo. It was here that I learned the value of building relationships and firmly believe that this is the key foundation of any successful school system. The relationships that I built at P.D. still have a profound effect on who I am as a teacher, mentor, and leader. After Palo Duro, I became the associate principal at Tascosa High School for 6 years. While I was there, our staff was able to make Tascosa the premiere high school in Amarillo. At the time, it was recognized as one of the top 1,000 high schools in the nation based on the advanced placement classes that were offered. I then moved to Canadian to be the principal at Canadian Middle School. It was there that I learned the importance of small school values and traditions. I have spent the last 4 years there before coming to Stanton. At SHS I look forward to using my newly established relationships to help support the community, parents, and students that make SISD one of the best districts in the state. I cannot wait to work with you this year to provide your student an amazing educational experience. I believe in providing a safe learning environment for your child that embraces their social and emotional needs as well as their academic successes. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to give me a call. After all, no significant school year can occur without a significant relationship!
