Thayne has been in San Antonio since Wednesday with the All-State Texas Small School Band. They are working hard and will put on an incredible concert on Saturday morning at the Lila Cockrell Theater in downtown San Antonio. Thayne made it to the All-State Band through months of preparation, hard work, and incredibly tough auditions. Congratulations Thayne on representing yourself and Stanton at the state level!!!!

Midland College & Sul Ross University are hosting a dual FAFSA event on Feb. 15 at Midland College. If you would like help filing the FAFSA, this would be a great opportunity. Congratulations to these SHS Speech and Debate Contestants and their amazing Coach, Mrs. Shipman, bringing home some hardware from Irion County today! Maddie Hull earned 3rd place in Poetry, Kenyon Gee was 2nd in Prose, Olivia Mitchell walked away with 2nd place in Informative Speaking, Kambrie Anderson earned 4th place in Lincoln Douglas Debate, Vanity Olivar Perez took 2nd place in Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Addi Silva and Andrea Ellington were 2nd in CX Debate. We want to give a warm welcome to our newest little rookie Buff, Ryder Krew Russ. He was born January 23rd, weighing in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces. His dad, Coach Addison Russ, will have him on the roster in no time. His proud grandpa, Bear, is SHS principal, Drew Daniel. ⚾🐃❤

Congratulations to our All-Region Band Qualifiers! They put on an outstanding concert on Saturday at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center alongside the best high school musicians in the Permian Basin. Great job to these hard working students! Congratulations to Koda Cook - Herdsmen Award for Swine, Zoe Martel - Herdsmen Award for Sheep, Kylee Thetford - Herdsmen Award for Rabbits. Daniel Wickler received a Top Hand Award. Kallie O’Neal earned a scholarship. Daniel Wickler was awarded three scholarships. Kaycee Jefferson was awarded three scholarships. Emilee Day received three scholarships as well.
